At the Sarah Osahume Foundation, our mission is to empower underprivileged communities in Nigeria through targeted programs that enhance education, health, and economic development. We are committed to creating sustainable solutions that uplift individuals and foster self-reliance in diverse communities across the country.

We envision a Nigeria where every individual has the opportunity to achieve their full potential, regardless of their background. By breaking the cycles of poverty and improving access to essential services, we strive to cultivate environments where education thrives, health is preserved, and economic opportunities are abundant
Our History
Founded by Sarah Hamed, a passionate advocate for social change, the Sarah Osahume Foundation began as a small initiative focused on literacy and health awareness in Edo State. Early on, we established mentorship programs aimed at connecting young people with seasoned professionals in various fields, providing guidance and support to foster personal and professional growth. Recognising the profound impact of these programs, the foundation quickly expanded to include economic empowerment projects and broader educational support. Today, we operate across multiple Nigerian states, continually adapting and expanding our services to meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve.
Our Objectives
Objective 1: Reduce Poverty Impact
- To establish mentorship programs that connect mentees with experienced mentors skilled in various trades and professions, facilitating career guidance and vocational training.
- To create apprenticeship opportunities where young adults and children can learn practical skills directly relevant to the local job market, enhancing employability and fostering entrepreneurship.
Objective 2: Alleviate Hunger
- To organize regular food drives in partnership with local businesses and farms to distribute food supplies to the less privileged, ensuring that vulnerable communities have access to nutritious food.
- To implement community gardens and smallholder farmer support programs that teach sustainable agricultural practices and improve local food production, contributing to long-term food security.
Objective 3: Promote Good Health and Well-being
- To conduct health drives offering free screenings and consultations in rural and underserved areas, focusing on early detection and management of common illnesses like diabetes and hypertension.
- To launch educational campaigns on sickle cell anemia, providing information on prevention, management, and available care options, specifically aiming to reduce prevalence and improve quality of life for affected individuals.
- To partner with healthcare providers to facilitate mobile health clinics that reach isolated communities, enhancing access to medical services.
Objective 4: Ensure Inclusive and Quality Education
- To sponsor children from low-income families to attend school, covering tuition, uniforms, and other essentials through scholarship programs.
- To organize school supply drives that collect and distribute books, bags, uniforms, and other necessities to students in need, ensuring they have the tools required for learning.
- To support educational enhancement programs that provide after-school tutoring and extracurricular activities to enrich students’ learning experiences.
